Posting on Work When Free is free. A clear listing gets a useful reply much faster than a vague one, so it is worth a minute of thought before you publish.
Before you post
- Log in and complete your profile. Your name, phone number, country and location are needed before a job can be posted.
- Decide what the task actually involves, roughly how long it will take, and what you are willing to pay.
Write a clear title
- Say what the work is in a few plain words, for example Help move furniture or Weekend shop assistant.
- Keep it short. Titles are limited to 20 characters and use letters, numbers and spaces.
- Avoid vague titles like Easy money or Urgent work. They attract the wrong replies and may be reported.
Describe the task
- Explain what needs doing, when you need it, and anything the person must bring or know.
- Mention whether the work is one-off or repeats, and whether it is indoors or outdoors.
- Do not put your phone number, email address or any link in the description. Contact details are shared through the site after login.
- Do not ask anyone for a fee, deposit or payment to be considered. Listings that do are removed.
Set hours, amount and expiry
- Enter the hours the task should take and the amount you are offering for it. Be realistic; an amount far above the work invites scam reports.
- Choose an expiry date. Short expiry works well for a task you need done this week.
Set the location
- Select the job location on the map so people nearby can find it in a radius search.
- The job location must be within range of your profile location and in the same country.
After you post
- Your listing appears on the home page and stays visible until it expires.
- Open Jobs Posted by Me to review your listings, and expire a job early once the task is filled.
- Confirm details on the phone before anyone travels to you, and read the safety tips.
